DESIGN

  • Consultation

    • Your project kicks off with a free in-home consultation to explore your ideas and your options. During your initial meeting, our team of expert designers will take the time to listen to your ideas and understand your needs. We will work closely with you to explore your options and ensure that we have a clear understanding of your vision for the project.     

  • Preliminary Design

    • In the planning process, you may engage with your designer multiple times as we work towards refining the scope of your project. Detailed floor plans and elevations will be prepared for your review and approval. Expense projections are provided, and budgets are established. Concepts that started out as ideas are now taking shape with intricate details.

  • Material Selections

    • Choosing the right materials for your project can be overwhelming, but with the help of your J&J designer, the process becomes more manageable. Our in-house showroom provides a wide range of options, making it easy to play around with different ideas and concepts to find the perfect fit for your style and budget!   

Documentation and Approvals

  • Blueprints

    • At J&J, serving as your general contractor, we are actively engaged throughout the entire project. Our close collaboration with architects and designers ensures that the blueprint faithfully captures your vision, all while adhering to building codes and regulations.

  • Permits

    • J&J Construction will take care of obtaining all the required permits, contacting J.U.L.I.E before construction from your municipality, and scheduling all the necessary inspections throughout the construction process. You can relax and have peace of mind knowing that everything will be handled efficiently.

Construction

  • Project Coordination

    • Once building permits are issued, construction will promptly commence. Prior to the start of construction, you can anticipate consistent communication to keep you informed about scheduling and ensure that your specifications are met. Once construction is underway, ongoing contact will be maintained to keep you well-informed, guarantee smooth operations, and address any questions or concerns that may arise.

  • Functionable Renovating

    • If you choose to stay in your home during the construction period (as most of our clients do), we understand that your day-to-day routine may be disrupted. Please rest assured that we will make every effort to be as unobtrusive and respectful as possible. If you are uncomfortable with our tradesmen using your bathroom, we will work with you to provide temporary restroom facilities. Your comfort and convenience during the construction process are important to us, and we aim to accommodate your needs in every way possible.

  • Project Wrap-Up

    • As the project nears its conclusion, your project manager will lead you through a final walkthrough. During this stage, any concerns you might have will be carefully addressed and documented on a "punch list." These concerns will be resolved before the project reaches its completion. Once all the work is finished, we will schedule a final inspection to officially close out your project. Your satisfaction remains our utmost priority throughout this process.

  • Warranty

    • Our commitment to your satisfaction extends beyond the completion of your renovation project. We strive not only for your happiness upon project completion but also for your continued satisfaction. . To ensure this, J&J Construction provides a labor and material warranty, assuring you that we will address any product issue for four years. Have peace of mind knowing we are committed to delivering high-quality service.  

What is Livable Remodeling?

We understand that enduring a remodel can be challenging, as your home undergoes the process of being disassembled and reconstructed. Over time, we have developed strategies to make this experience more manageable for our customers, emphasizing the importance of creating a “livable remodeling” environment.

  • Barriers

    • Construction can get quite messy, but we take extra steps to minimize dust and create a more comfortable living environment during remodeling. We use physical barriers like plastic walls and temporary doors to keep the dust contained.

  • Communication

    • You can expect regular contact from our team to keep you updated on the progress of your project, scheduling details, and upcoming steps. Maintaining open communication is crucial to ensuring a seamless and smooth renovation experience for you.

  • Lockbox

    • Various tradesmen will be working intermittently to bring your vision to life. Their arrival times may vary, whether it's early in the morning or later in the day. To ensure that your schedule remains uninterrupted, we utilize lock boxes. This approach enhances convenience both for you and the tradesmen involved in the project.

  • Dust control

    • There is a possibility of dust migrating from the work zone to other areas of your home. To mitigate this, we take measures to block both the heat and return air vents in the workspace. This measure helps prevent dust from circulating through your furnace and entering other rooms in your home.

  • Porta Potty

    • We offer the option of porta-potty services, a choice some homeowners opt for while others may not. If you prefer not to have other tradesmen using your bathroom, we can arrange for a porta-potty at your jobsite. Whether you'll be without a bathroom temporarily or simply prefer to reserve your toilet for personal use, we accommodate your preferences.
